Left hand thread track rod end for Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic
This Delphi track rod end fits Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic steering bars that require the left hand thread joint. It can also be used with many compatible heavy-duty steering bars where the bar uses the same thread and joint type.
Track rod ends are normal wear items on Land Rover steering systems. Play in the joint, a split dust boot, steering knock, vague steering or MOT failure are common reasons for replacement.
Thread direction matters on these steering bars, so match the new joint to the threaded side you are replacing. If you are replacing both ends of a bar, the matching right hand thread track rod end is available separately.
A proper ball joint splitter / separator can make removal of the tapered joint cleaner and more controlled.
