Land Rover engine oil by grade, specification and engine type

Choose engine oil for your Land Rover by the correct specification first, then by viscosity grade and bottle size. This section covers engine oil for Defender, Discovery, Range Rover and Freelander models, including Td5, TDI, TDV6/SDV6, Puma TDCI and selected petrol engines.

Different Land Rover engines can need different oil specifications, even where the viscosity grade looks similar. Check your handbook, service data or the oil specification shown on the product page before ordering.

• 5W-20 engine oil for selected later engines requiring this grade
• 5W-30 engine oil for many later Land Rover diesel and petrol applications
• 5W-40 engine oil including selected Td5-compatible oils
• VW 505.01 engine oil for Td5 servicing where this specification is required
• Ravenol USVO® engine oils for higher-specification Ravenol options
