Find the right 12V battery route
Most Land Rover battery orders start with the vehicle and the job: normal starter battery replacement, stronger cold-start performance, auxiliary power, leisure use or battery testing before parts are replaced.
| Job / route | Best place to start | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Td5 starter battery replacement | Td5 Batteries | Check Defender Td5 or Discovery 2 Td5 fitment, case size, terminal layout, Ah rating and cold cranking rating. |
| 300TDI starter battery replacement | 300TDI Batteries | Check Defender, Discovery 1 or Range Rover Classic fitment, physical size, terminal position and cranking output. |
| Defender Puma / TDCI battery replacement | Puma/TDCI Batteries | Check 2.4 or 2.2 TDCI fitment, case size, terminal layout and battery specification against the product page. |
| Auxiliary power and camping use | Leisure Batteries | Match battery capacity and battery type to the charging system, mounting position, cable size and fused accessory load. |
| Slow cranking or repeated flat batteries | 12V Battery Tester | Test battery health, cranking output and charging output before assuming the battery is the only fault. |
Check battery fitment before ordering
Battery fitment is not just a voltage check. Land Rover battery trays, leads and auxiliary setups need the correct physical case, terminal position, capacity and cold cranking performance for the vehicle and the job.
Use the correct vehicle route first: Td5, 300TDI, Defender Puma / TDCI or leisure battery use.
Check the battery dimensions against the tray, retaining clamp and seat-box or engine-bay space before ordering.
Check positive and negative terminal positions against the vehicle leads; the wrong layout can stop the battery connecting safely.
Compare Ah capacity and cold cranking rating with the product page, vehicle use and electrical load.
Branded starter, AGM and leisure batteries
Individual product pages identify the brand, battery type, capacity, cranking rating and vehicle fitment where that information is available. Use the product title, stated specification and fitment notes together before adding a battery to the basket.
| Battery type | How it is shown on Twinwoods 4x4 |
|---|---|
| Starter batteries | Starter batteries are shown with vehicle fitment, capacity and cranking information where supplied on the product page. |
| AGM and high-cranking batteries | AGM and higher-cranking batteries are identified where the product data supports that battery type or cranking specification. |
| Leisure and dual-purpose batteries | Leisure and dual-purpose batteries are separated for auxiliary power, camping setups, split-charge systems and accessory loads. |
| Battery testing tools | Battery testers sit alongside the batteries where testing battery health, cranking voltage and charging output helps confirm the fault. |
