Terms & Conditions

Version 2026.08.24.01 (24 August 2026)

TL;DR — Please read before ordering

Twinwoods 4x4 is a small independent specialist parts business, not a large marketplace or fulfilment warehouse. Please check fitment carefully before ordering, pay attention to dispatch information shown at checkout, and read the delivery, returns and warranty terms that apply to your order.

Change-of-mind returns are at your cost, international customers are responsible for applicable import charges, and manufacturer or supplier warranties ordinarily cover the part itself.

Company details

Twinwoods 4x4 Ltd
Twinwoods 4x4 is a trading name of Twinwoods 4x4 Ltd.
Three Oaks Farm, Park Lane, Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire MK44 1LS, United Kingdom
Company no: 11812219 | VAT no: GB 318 9764 58

1) About Us

We supply new parts and accessories, primarily for Land Rover vehicles, online and for collection by arrangement.

2) Pricing, VAT & Payment

2.1 Price display

Our catalogue, cart and checkout show prices including VAT by default. VAT is shown clearly at checkout before you pay. Orders shipped outside the UK are supplied without UK VAT where applicable; import duties, taxes and carrier or broker fees may apply in the destination country and are normally payable by the recipient.

2.2 Quotations & price changes

Supplier prices can change. If the price of a back-order or specially sourced item changes materially before dispatch, we will contact you before proceeding.

2.3 Payment & ownership

We accept major debit and credit cards via secure checkout and secure payment links, and bank transfer (BACS). Where applicable, card payments may be protected by 3-D Secure / Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). Card payments by phone are available on request. Goods remain our property until paid for in full. We do not offer credit accounts.

3) Ordering & Contract

3.1 Order acceptance & dispatch

Your order acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order. It does not constitute acceptance of your order.

We accept your order when we dispatch the goods and send you a dispatch confirmation. Payment may be taken when you place your order. Taking payment does not constitute acceptance of your order.

We may decline an order before acceptance. If payment has already been taken, it will be refunded.

3.2 Availability & backorders

Stock levels are updated regularly but can be affected by walk-in sales, supplier availability and other stock movements. Items marked “available on backorder” are ordered in for you and will normally add approximately 1–2 working days. If an item cannot be supplied, we will contact you and offer an appropriate alternative or refund.

3.3 Items sourced specifically for you

Some items are sourced specifically to fulfil an individual order and may not normally be held in stock. Please check suitability carefully before ordering, particularly for high-value or unusual items.

3.4 Order-specific dispatch information

Normal dispatch estimates may change during temporary closures, holidays, exceptional workloads or other operational circumstances.

Where a specific dispatch date or dispatch period is clearly shown at checkout, that information applies to your order instead of our normal dispatch estimate. Where you are required to acknowledge that information before placing the order, your acknowledgement confirms that you have seen and accepted the stated dispatch timing.

4) Delivery

4.1 Methods, costs & estimates

Available delivery methods and costs are shown at checkout once a delivery address is entered and depend on the size, weight and destination of the order.

Occasionally an item requires unusual or additional protective packaging. If this materially affects the delivery cost after an order is placed, we will contact you before dispatch.

4.2 Risk & title

Title: Title to the goods passes on full payment.

Risk for consumer orders: Risk passes when the goods come into your physical possession, or the physical possession of a person you have identified to receive them.

Safe place / neighbour instructions: If you instruct the carrier to deliver to a nominated neighbour, safe place or other location, including through the carrier's website, app or delivery notification, you accept delivery made in accordance with those instructions.

Misdelivery: If tracking shows a parcel as delivered but you have not received it, please contact us promptly so that we can investigate and, where appropriate, raise a carrier claim.

4.3 Delivery restrictions

We cannot deliver to PO Boxes. Carrier restrictions may apply to liquids, batteries, long-length, heavy or oversized items. Where relevant, the available delivery options will be shown or advised.

12 V vehicle batteries can only be delivered within the UK and may use a different courier route from other parts. Batteries may be dispatched separately and may in some cases be sent directly from the battery supplier.

4.4 Packaging & presentation

Parts are supplied new unless stated otherwise. Packaging exists primarily to protect the product. Manufacturer cartons may be opened for checking, reinforced, re-sealed or placed inside alternative packaging for safer transport. We also reuse clean supplier packaging and outer cartons where appropriate.

Cosmetic marks, labels, tape or transit wear to packaging do not by themselves make a new and otherwise unaffected product defective. If pristine retail packaging is important to you, please contact us before ordering.

4.5 International orders — duties, taxes & clearance

International orders are shipped Delivered At Place (DAP) unless stated otherwise.

Import duties, local taxes including import VAT, customs charges and carrier or broker fees are not included in the amount paid to us and are the responsibility of the recipient.

You are responsible for providing any information reasonably required for customs clearance. Failure to pay applicable charges or provide required information may result in the shipment being delayed, held, returned, abandoned or disposed of.

Where a shipment is returned to us for these reasons, any refund will be processed after the goods are returned or the carrier confirms the final outcome. To the extent permitted by law, carrier return, storage, disposal or handling charges actually incurred by us may be deducted from any refund.

4.6 Northern Ireland deliveries

For deliveries to Northern Ireland, you confirm that the goods are for use, resale or final consumption within the United Kingdom and are not intended to be moved to the European Union or Republic of Ireland.

If you are ordering on behalf of a business, or the goods are not for final use, resale or consumption within the United Kingdom, please contact us before ordering.

5) Free Delivery Offer

Free standard delivery is available to most Mainland UK website orders where the qualifying basket value is £99 inc VAT or more.

Free delivery does not apply to oils or liquids, 12 V batteries, long-length or oversized products, orders requiring exceptional protective packaging, or addresses outside Mainland UK including Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

Orders using free delivery may use a slower standard service than paid delivery options.

6) Collections (Click & Collect)

Select Collection at checkout and we will contact you when your order is ready. Collection is by prior arrangement only. Please wait for confirmation before travelling.

7) Vehicle Fitment & Compatibility

Fitment information is based on manufacturer and supplier information for vehicles as originally built. Vehicles may have been modified, repaired using different components or altered by previous owners, and manufacturers may change specifications.

Please check part numbers, specifications and suitability carefully before ordering, particularly where the vehicle has been modified or its history is uncertain.

8) Cancellations (Change of Mind)

If you are a UK consumer buying at a distance, you normally have the right to cancel most orders without giving a reason. You must tell us within 14 days after receiving the goods and return the goods within the following 14 days.

To cancel, contact us with your order number. You may use the model cancellation form in Appendix 1, but you do not have to.

Managed returns: Where suitable, we can provide a tracked return service for UK change-of-mind returns. This provides a cost-effective, hassle-free drop-off process, proof of handover and tracking linked to your return. It also allows us to identify and monitor the parcel from the point it enters the carrier network and, where necessary, deal directly with the carrier if something goes wrong. The cost of the return service will be advised before it is arranged and may be deducted from your refund.

If you choose to arrange your own return instead, you are responsible for selecting a suitable return service with appropriate cover for the value of the goods, packing and addressing the goods correctly, and taking reasonable steps to ensure they reach us. You will also need to retain evidence sufficient to identify the consignment and show that it was sent to us. Where there is any dispute about a return, we will ask for further information reasonably necessary to establish what was sent and how it was returned.

  • If the order has not been dispatched, we will normally be able to cancel it and refund the payment without sending the goods.
  • For change-of-mind returns, return carriage and safe packing are your responsibility.
  • Refunds will be made within the applicable statutory period.
  • Where required, we will refund the cost of our least expensive standard outbound delivery service. Any additional cost for a premium delivery service is not refundable.
  • We may reduce the refund where the value of the goods has been reduced by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and function.

Exceptions: The statutory change-of-mind right does not apply in some circumstances, including goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, certain sealed goods where return is excluded for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed, goods which become inseparably mixed with other goods after delivery, and other exceptions provided by law.

Faulty, damaged or incorrectly described goods are dealt with under section 10.

Customers outside the UK: Any mandatory consumer rights which apply under the law governing your purchase remain unaffected. We do not otherwise offer an additional discretionary change-of-mind returns period for international orders.

9) Returns & Exchanges

We do not offer a goodwill returns period beyond any cancellation or other return rights which apply by law.

  • Please contact us before returning goods so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.
  • For change-of-mind returns, follow section 8.
  • Return carriage and safe packing are your responsibility for change-of-mind returns.
  • Returned goods must be the same goods supplied by us and complete with all components, accessories and any free or promotional items supplied with them.
  • Please do not attach shipping labels directly to manufacturer product boxes.
  • Please contact us before returning hazardous, heavy or oversized items such as oils, batteries, pressurised containers or long-length items.

Exchanges: We do not operate a separate exchange process. If you require a different item, please place a new order and return any eligible unwanted item separately.

10) Faulty, Damaged or Missing Items

10.1 If something is not right

If an item is faulty, damaged in transit, not as described or something is missing, please contact us with your order number and a clear description of the problem.

We may ask for information or evidence reasonably necessary to understand and assess the issue.

10.2 Assessment & inspection

Some issues can be resolved from the information provided. Where reasonably necessary, we may ask you to stop using the part, retain packaging or return the goods for inspection before the claim is finally assessed.

Where practicable, please do not dispose of, dismantle, modify, repair or replace an allegedly faulty part before we have had a reasonable opportunity to assess the issue.

10.3 Return of faulty goods

Where return is reasonably required for a faulty, damaged or not-as-described item, we will advise the appropriate return method and will normally provide a prepaid return service or cover reasonable return costs agreed with us.

10.4 Inspection outcomes

If the goods are faulty, not as described or were damaged in transit, we will provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with your legal rights.

If inspection shows that the part is not faulty, or that the issue results from incorrect fitment, installation damage, contamination, modification, misuse, an unrelated vehicle fault or normal wear and tear, the claim may be declined and we will explain the outcome.

10.5 Transit damage & shortages

Please inspect deliveries as soon as reasonably possible. Reporting transit damage or shortages promptly makes carrier investigations easier. We may ask for photographs of the item, shipping label and packaging and may ask you to retain the packaging while the matter is investigated.

10.6 Product packaging

You are buying the product, not the packaging. Cosmetic damage, tape, labels or marks to packaging do not by themselves make a new and otherwise unaffected product defective. Damage affecting the product itself will be dealt with appropriately.

11) Guarantees & Warranties

New goods are supplied with any applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty, normally for at least 12 months unless stated otherwise.

Manufacturer and supplier warranties ordinarily cover defects in the part itself. They do not normally cover misuse, incorrect fitment, competition use unless specifically stated, contamination, modification, installation damage, normal wear or failure caused by another vehicle fault.

Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection or supplier testing. For certain components we may reasonably ask for evidence of correct or professional installation.

Manufacturer and supplier warranty remedies ordinarily relate to the part itself and do not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel, vehicle downtime, hire or other incidental costs.

12 V vehicle batteries

Battery warranty covers manufacturing defects. It does not cover failures caused by vehicle or charging-system faults, incorrect charging, overcharging, undercharging, deep discharge, parasitic drain, poor electrical connections, faulty alternators, voltage regulators or unsuitable auxiliary wiring.

A battery may need to be fully charged and tested before a warranty claim can be confirmed. We may also ask for relevant vehicle charging-system test results.

Any manufacturer or supplier warranty is additional to, and does not reduce, your statutory rights.

12) Business Customers

You are a business customer where you purchase wholly or mainly for purposes relating to your trade, business, craft or profession, including where a company, partnership or other business entity is the contracting party.

Consumer change-of-mind cancellation rights do not apply to business purchases. Any return of correctly supplied goods by a business customer is at our discretion and may be subject to return costs and a reasonable restocking charge.

For business customers, subject to liabilities which cannot lawfully be limited, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity or other indirect or consequential business losses. Our total liability arising from a single order will not exceed the amount paid for the goods concerned.

13) Fraud & Security Checks

We use automated and manual checks to help protect orders and payments.

For unusual or higher-risk orders we may request additional information or verification, delay dispatch while checks are completed, or decline the order and refund any payment taken.

14) Orders We Decline, Refused Deliveries & Clearance Outcomes

We may decline an order at any time before acceptance and dispatch. If payment has already been taken, it will be refunded.

Where a statutory cancellation right applies, section 8 will apply.

Refused, not collected or undeliverable shipments: Where no statutory change-of-mind right applies, if a shipment is refused, not collected or cannot be delivered and is returned to us, we may refund the order less the reasonable outbound, return, storage or handling costs actually incurred by us, unless the failure was caused by our error.

International customs clearance: Where a shipment is returned because import charges have not been paid or required clearance information has not been provided, any refund will be considered after the goods are returned to us or the carrier confirms the final outcome. Where the carrier cannot return the goods and they are abandoned, destroyed or otherwise disposed of, a refund may not be possible.

Misuse: We may refuse discretionary goodwill arrangements and may decline future orders where we reasonably believe there has been dishonest, abusive or repeated improper use of our returns, payment or warranty processes. This does not affect any statutory rights which already apply.

15) Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

For consumer purchases, we are not responsible for losses which were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made or for losses arising from use of the goods for business purposes.

16) Complaints & Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint, please contact us with your order number and details of the issue. We will aim to resolve matters promptly and fairly.

If we cannot resolve a dispute directly, we will consider an appropriate Alternative Dispute Resolution process where applicable.

17) Privacy & Cookies

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which also contains information about cookies and marketing preferences.

18) Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also use your local courts where applicable.

If you are a consumer resident outside the UK, any mandatory rights or protections which apply to you under applicable local consumer law remain unaffected.
