Defender Rear Door Lock & Handle Assembly – FQJ103840

The rear door on a Defender works hard – carrying the spare wheel, opening and closing constantly and getting showered in road grime. Over time the latch and handle can wear, leading to rattles, poor latching or a door you have to slam to keep shut.

This assembly is the correct rear end anti-burst door latch mechanism with part number FQJ103840. It replaces the original latch and outer handle in one go, giving a much more solid feel and improved security.

Vehicle compatibility

Rear door:

• Land Rover Defender 90 & 110 swing-away rear doors
• Up to approximately mid-2001, non-central locking (rod-operated latch)

Front door:

• Right-hand / driver’s front door on early Defenders with lift-up exterior handles
• Replaces earlier latch 395037

Not suitable for later Defender rear doors with factory central locking – use the correct later latches for those applications.
