Dayco V8 auxiliary drive belt tensioner replacement
This Dayco drive belt tensioner fits Land Rover Discovery 2 V8 and Range Rover P38 V8 models using Land Rover part number ERR6439. It is the spring-loaded tensioner assembly for the auxiliary drive belt system on the Rover V8 engine.
A worn belt tensioner can cause belt squeal, chirping, poor belt tracking, visible tensioner movement or bearing noise from the front of the engine. If the tensioner is weak, rough or noisy, replacement helps restore correct belt loading across the auxiliary drive system.
Check your belt layout before ordering, especially on Discovery 2 V8 models where ACE and air conditioning layouts can affect the auxiliary belt arrangement. If the belt is cracked, glazed or contaminated, replace it at the same time as the tensioner.
