Discovery 2 Revotec air conditioning fan kit
The Discovery 2 air conditioning fan sits at the front of the vehicle and supports condenser cooling when the air conditioning system needs extra airflow. It can also assist engine cooling under specific high-temperature conditions.
Original Discovery 2 A/C fan motors often fail after long periods of little use. Once the motor seizes, it can blow the fan fuse, so replacing the fuse alone will not normally solve the problem if the fan itself is locked or drawing excessive current.
This Revotec fan kit replaces the original JRP100060 Discovery 2 air conditioning fan when the original fan assembly has failed, seized or become unreliable.
Please note that this fan kit does not plug directly into the original Discovery 2 vehicle loom connector. Basic wiring modification is required during fitting: the original plug will need to be removed and suitable crimp terminals or a suitable connector fitted to connect the fan securely.
Discovery 2 air conditioning fan operation
The Discovery 2 A/C fan does not run constantly. It only cuts in when required by air conditioning or engine temperature conditions, which is why failed fans are often only noticed when the air conditioning stops working correctly, the fuse blows, or a cooling fault is being investigated.
- For A/C system cooling, the fan can run at lower road speeds when ambient temperature is high
- For engine cooling, the fan can cut in at high coolant temperature
- After switch-off, the fan can run briefly if coolant temperature is high enough
