Four-brush replacement set for compatible Bosch starter motors used on Land Rover 2.5 NA diesel, 2.5 Turbo Diesel, 200TDI and 300TDI engines. The brushes replace the worn carbon elements inside the starter while retaining the existing brush holder.

Description
STC1246 starter motor brush set for compatible Bosch starters fitted to Land Rover 2.5 NA diesel, 2.5 Turbo Diesel, 200TDI and 300TDI engines. The set contains four individual carbon brushes with braided copper leads, replacing the brushes that run against the starter motor commutator. The existing brush holder is retained; this is not a complete replacement brush-box assembly.
Starter Motor Repair Component
The brushes fit inside the starter motor at the commutator and brush-holder end. Installation requires the starter to be dismantled, the existing brushes removed and the new braided leads connected to the existing starter internals. The old brush connections must be removed and the replacement braided leads soldered into position.
This is an internal starter-motor repair component requiring suitable electrical and mechanical repair skills. If dismantling and repairing the existing starter is not intended, replace the complete starter motor instead.

These vehicles were not universally fitted with the same make and type of starter motor throughout production. Confirm that the existing starter is the compatible Bosch unit before ordering; STC1246 is not a universal brush set for every starter fitted to these engines.

The STC1245 starter motor solenoid is a separate repair component for the same Bosch starter family. The solenoid and brush set address different faults within the starter motor and should not be treated as interchangeable cures for a starting fault.

Warranty
Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
This warranty is in addition to your legal rights and does not reduce those rights.
