QFW100180 is a power steering box output shaft seal kit for Land Rover Discovery 2 models. It is used to repair leaks from the lower output shaft area of the steering box, where the drop arm fits to the sector shaft.

Discovery 2 steering box output shaft seal repair
This output shaft seal kit is for the Discovery 2 power steering box and replaces Land Rover part number QFW100180. It is used when power steering fluid is leaking from the lower sector shaft area, where the steering box drop arm fits.
A leaking output shaft seal can leave fluid around the bottom of the steering box, drop arm and chassis area. If the steering box is otherwise working correctly, replacing the seal kit can be a practical repair instead of replacing the complete steering box.
Before fitting, check the output shaft for wear, scoring, corrosion or excessive play. A new seal kit is unlikely to give a reliable long-term repair if the shaft surface is damaged or the steering box has internal wear.
