Discovery 2 Front Ball Joint Kits

Discovery 2 front axle ball joint kits for replacing the upper and lower swivel ball joints on the front axle. These kits are for Land Rover Discovery 2 models and are also commonly shared with Range Rover P38 front axle ball joint applications where stated on the product page.

When front axle ball joints are worn, it is good practice to replace both sides at the same time. If one side has developed play, the other side has usually had the same mileage, load and age, and stripping the front axle twice is not a job most people want to repeat.

Discovery 2 and Range Rover P38 front axle ball joints press into apertures in the axle yokes. On older vehicles, especially where ball joints have been replaced before, these apertures can become excessively worn. If a new ball joint does not grip correctly in the axle, the axle bore must be checked before continuing. A loose fit in a worn axle yoke is an axle issue, not a ball joint issue.

Polyurethane ball joint boots are also available for these front axle ball joints. They are a good add-on when you want tougher, longer-lasting protection for the exposed ball joint boots.
