Common Td5 injector seal symptoms
Failed copper injector washers can allow combustion gas past the injector seat. This can cause poor starting, rough running, misfires or cutting out.
Failed injector O-rings can allow diesel to enter the engine oil. This may raise the oil level, thin the engine oil and, in severe cases, increase the risk of turbo runaway if the engine starts running on its own oil.
If the injectors are being removed, the copper washers and O-rings should normally be replaced before refitting.
