Check the original housing first
Inspect the casting for cracks, corrosion, damaged gasket faces and damaged threads, particularly around the oil pressure switch and oil-line connections. If the housing is sound, either rebuild kit retains it; if the casting itself is damaged, replace the complete PBC500230 assembly.
