Description
Complete Defender swivel housing kit for one side of the later non-ABS front axle fitted from VIN XA onwards. DA3179G includes a new swivel ball together with OE-quality bearings and seals, the upper swivel pin, retaining plate, gaskets, shims, washers and swivel housing grease. GA3179G is the equivalent kit reference.
The new swivel ball makes this the complete kit for an axle where the original chrome surface is pitted, rusty or scored. Damage to this surface prevents the main swivel seal from running cleanly against the ball and commonly results in grease or oil leaking from the swivel housing.

Fitment Notes
Confirm that the vehicle has the later non-ABS front axle before ordering. Defender axles and complete swivel assemblies are often changed during the vehicle’s life, so the specification of the axle currently fitted is more important than the registration year alone.

Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
