Corteco

Corteco Land Rover sealing products for engines, axles, gearboxes, transfer boxes and steering systems, including crankshaft and camshaft oil seals, hub and pinion seals, swivel seals and steering box seal kits.

Corteco is our first-choice brand for sealing products. It is Freudenberg’s aftermarket brand, bringing Freudenberg sealing technology and OE-quality parts into the independent aftermarket. When the correct Corteco seal is available, it is normally the one we want to stock.

Why Corteco is our first choice for seals

The seal is often one of the least expensive parts in a repair and one of the worst parts to have to replace twice. A crankshaft, gearbox, transfer box or axle seal needs to fit correctly, run properly on the sealing surface and keep oil where it belongs. Corteco specialises in exactly this type of component. The brand is backed by Freudenberg’s sealing manufacturing, material development and original-equipment experience, which is why Corteco is the first brand we look for when selecting Land Rover oil seals and sealing kits.

Find the right Corteco sealing product

Job Parts in this brand Check before ordering
Engine oil leak repairs Front and rear crankshaft seals, camshaft seals and valve stem seals Engine type, seal position and original part number
Hub, axle and differential sealing Hub seals, stub axle seals, swivel housing seals, drive shaft seals and differential pinion seals Front or rear axle, axle type, seal position and part number
Gearbox and transfer box repairs LT230 input and flange seals, LT77 and R380 input seals and transmission sealing parts Gearbox or transfer box type and the exact position of the seal
Steering box leaks Input and output shaft seal kits for Land Rover steering boxes Three-bolt or four-bolt steering box and the shaft being repaired

Check the seal position before ordering

Land Rover seals can appear very similar while fitting different engines, axle arrangements, gearbox positions or steering box designs. Use the product title, original part number and fitment information together before ordering.
Engine and seal position Confirm the engine and whether the seal fits the front crankshaft, rear crankshaft, camshaft or valve stem.
Axle and hub arrangement Check the axle type, front or rear position and whether the seal fits the hub, stub axle, swivel housing, halfshaft or differential.
Gearbox or transfer box LT77, R380, automatic gearboxes and LT230 transfer boxes use different seals in different positions.
Original part number Compare the part number and any superseded references with the seal or assembly being replaced.

Corteco sealing quality

Corteco is not a general parts label that happens to include a few oil seals. Sealing is one of the brand’s core product groups, covering radial shaft seals, valve stem seals, gaskets and specialist sealing kits through Freudenberg Sealing Technologies. That specialist background is particularly valuable with crankshaft, transmission and axle seals, where repeating the repair normally costs far more than buying a good seal in the first place.

Delivery

Twinwoods 4x4 ships Land Rover parts across the UK and around the world. We regularly send parts overseas and use trusted tracked courier services so UK and international customers can order with confidence.

Standard UK shipments are normally sent with DPD. UK orders containing oils or fluids are normally sent with DHL where required, because some carriers restrict liquid shipments.

Worldwide delivery is available through DPD and DHL Express, depending on the destination, parcel size, weight and available courier services. Add the parts you need to your basket, enter your delivery address, and the checkout will show the available delivery options and prices before payment.

Free mainland UK postage and packaging is available on eligible orders over £99, subject to our delivery terms and conditions.

Returns
Up to 60-day returns Change-of-mind return carriage at your cost Check fitment before ordering
Extended 60-day returns. In addition to your statutory rights, eligible products can be returned for up to 60 days from delivery. Our extended returns policy automatically applies to individual products purchased for less than £250 including VAT. Products costing £250 or more may still be accepted for return at our discretion.
Please choose carefully before ordering. Check part numbers, fitment and suitability before purchase. Please do not order parts simply to try them or on the assumption that they can be fitted and then returned if unsuitable.
  • Changed your mind within 14 days? UK and EEA consumers have statutory cancellation rights. Tell us within 14 days of receiving your order, then return the goods within the following 14 days.
  • Need longer? Eligible products can be returned under our voluntary extended returns policy. Contact us within 60 days of delivery and, once the return has been agreed, send the goods back within 14 days.
  • Extended returns must be unused, unfitted, complete and suitable for resale as new. Goods must be undamaged, unmarked and uncontaminated, with all components and accessories supplied and their original product packaging where this formed part of the supplied product.
  • A £10 handling charge applies to extended returns. This is charged once per return consignment, regardless of how many eligible products are returned together. It does not apply where your statutory cancellation rights apply.
  • Return carriage and safe packing are your responsibility for change-of-mind returns.
  • Managed UK returns: where suitable, we can provide a convenient prepaid tracked return service with straightforward drop-off, proof of handover and tracking linked to your return. The cost will be advised before it is arranged and may be deducted from your refund.
  • Please do not fit or attempt to fit a part unless you intend to keep it. Fitting, attempted fitting, contamination, damage or excessive handling can substantially reduce the value of the goods. A product which has been fitted or used will not normally qualify for our voluntary extended returns policy.
  • Faulty, damaged or incorrectly described? Contact us first. We will advise the appropriate return method and will normally provide a prepaid return service or cover reasonable agreed return costs.
Returning it yourself? Please use a tracked, insured return service appropriate to the value and nature of the goods, pack and address the parcel correctly, and retain sufficient evidence to identify and trace the return. You remain responsible for the goods until they reach us.

Returns – quick FAQs

How long do I have to return an item?
Eligible products can be returned for up to 60 days from delivery under our voluntary extended returns policy.

For UK and EEA consumers, statutory change-of-mind cancellation rights also apply: tell us within 14 days of receiving your order, then return the goods within the following 14 days.
Which products qualify for 60-day returns?
Our extended returns policy automatically applies to individual products purchased for less than £250 including VAT.

Products purchased for £250 or more are not automatically covered, although we may agree to accept them for return at our discretion. Eligibility is based on the price of each individual product rather than the total order value.
Is there a charge for an extended return?
Returns made under our voluntary extended returns policy are subject to a £10 handling charge per return consignment, regardless of the number of eligible products returned together.

This charge does not apply where the return is being made under your statutory cancellation rights.
Who pays return carriage?
For change-of-mind returns, return carriage and safe packing are your responsibility. Where suitable, we can provide a prepaid tracked return service and advise the cost before it is arranged.

If an item is faulty, damaged or incorrectly described, contact us first. Where return is reasonably required, we will normally provide a prepaid return service or cover reasonable return costs agreed with us.
What condition must an extended return be in?
Goods returned under our extended returns policy must be unused, unfitted, complete and suitable for resale as new. They must be undamaged, unmarked and uncontaminated, with all components and accessories supplied and their original product packaging where this formed part of the supplied product.
Can I fit a part and then return it?
Please check fitment and suitability before installation. Please do not fit or attempt to fit a part unless you intend to keep it.

Once a part has been fitted or an attempt has been made to fit it, it may be marked, contaminated, damaged or otherwise unsuitable for resale as a new part. Fitted or used goods will not normally qualify for our voluntary extended returns policy.

Where statutory cancellation rights apply, handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the goods may result in a reduction to your refund if it has reduced their value.
What if the item is faulty?
Contact us before returning it. Where a return is reasonably required for a faulty, damaged or incorrectly described item, we will normally provide a prepaid return service or cover reasonable return costs agreed with us.
Are any items excluded from 60-day returns?
Products purchased for £250 or more including VAT are not automatically covered by our extended returns policy, although we may agree a return at our discretion.

Extended returns must also meet the condition requirements above. Statutory exclusions and any separate statutory rights continue to apply as set out in our full Terms & Conditions.
How do I start a return?

Please include your order number and a brief reason for the return. Do not send anything back until you have received the appropriate return instructions.

Warranty

Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.

Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.

Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.

Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.

This warranty is in addition to your legal rights and does not reduce those rights.
