Why we stock Koyo bearings

Koyo is one of the brands we actively look for when sourcing bearings. It gives us the quality, consistency and reputation we want for Land Rover components, often at a price that still represents excellent value. For us, Koyo sits firmly among the top-quality bearing manufacturers.

Bearings are not parts we select purely by price. Wheel hubs, press-fit fan hub bearings and pulley bearings depend on accurate manufacture and consistent quality, and the work involved in replacing them makes fitting an unknown bearing a false economy. Koyo gives us bearing quality we trust without making the repair unnecessarily expensive.

Japanese bearing experience since 1921

Koyo began bearing production in Japan in 1921 and developed into a major manufacturer of automotive and industrial bearings. Its automotive work covers bearings used throughout engines, transmissions, drivetrains, steering systems and wheel hubs, backed by more than a century of bearing development.

Koyo and JTEKT bearings

Koyo Seiko merged with Toyoda Machine Works in 2006 to form JTEKT. The Koyo bearing business later moved to JTEKT branding, so products and packaging may show Koyo, JTEKT or both names. The branding has changed, but the bearing manufacturing experience behind the products remains.

Koyo bearings for Land Rover repairs

Our current Koyo range covers three jobs where fitting a bearing from a known manufacturer is particularly worthwhile: rebuilding the TD5 viscous fan hub, replacing the bearings inside TD5 auxiliary drive idler pulleys, and replacing tapered wheel bearings in adjustable Land Rover hubs.
