Description

Gates Micro-V 7PK1715 auxiliary drive belt for Defender TD5 and Discovery 2 TD5 models using the PQS101490 layout. Fits vehicles without air conditioning and, on Discovery 2, without Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE). Gates Micro-V provides the higher-spec branded belt for this layout. Belt length: 1715mm.

Gates Micro-V belts use flexible EPDM construction developed to withstand repeated topside and backside bending around small pulleys, backside idlers and automatic tensioners. Each belt is form-ground for precise dimensional control, helping maintain accurate pulley contact while controlling noise and tension loss. The textured outer face also gives the Gates belt a clear visual construction difference from the smooth-backed Dayco version.

Gates

Gates is our choice for premium Land Rover belts and cooling products, including PowerGrip 300TDI timing belts, Micro-V TD5 auxiliary drive belts and selected cooling hoses.

Match the product to the vehicle, engine and belt layout before ordering. TD5 auxiliary belts split according to air conditioning and ACE equipment, while timing belts, kits and cooling hoses should be checked against the original part number and the individual product fitment.

Why Twinwoods chooses Gates

Gates has been developing belt-drive products for more than a century and invented the V-belt. It remains one of the leading manufacturers of automotive power transmission and fluid system products, with a strong reputation for OE-quality belt construction, accurate fit and dependable materials.

That background is why Gates is our first choice when we want the belt itself to be a major selling point. Timing belts, auxiliary belts and cooling hoses work continuously under heat, load and repeated movement, so these are not products where we select a brand on price alone.

Gates belts and cooling products

Product group Why we stock Gates Check before ordering
Timing belts and timing belt kits Gates PowerGrip timing belts for major engine service work where belt quality is particularly important. Check the engine, original part number and the exact contents of the kit.
Auxiliary drive belts Gates Micro-V belts for the TD5 accessory drive, manufactured for accurate pulley fit and reliable power transmission. Check the vehicle and whether it has air conditioning, ACE, both systems or neither.
Cooling hoses Selected moulded Gates hoses for replacing hardened, swollen, damaged or leaking original cooling system hoses. Check the vehicle, engine, hose position and original part number.

Why belt quality matters

A timing belt sits at the centre of a major engine service, while an auxiliary belt must keep driving the engine accessories through constant flexing, changing loads and high under-bonnet temperatures. Gates is a brand we are happy to put at the centre of both jobs.

Our premium 300TDI timing belt kit is built around a Gates PowerGrip belt with INA bearings. Individual product pages identify the exact contents because a Gates belt does not necessarily mean that every bearing, tensioner or fixing in a complete kit is manufactured by Gates.

Returns
Up to 60-day returns Change-of-mind return carriage at your cost Check fitment before ordering
Extended 60-day returns. In addition to your statutory rights, eligible products can be returned for up to 60 days from delivery. Our extended returns policy automatically applies to individual products purchased for less than £250 including VAT. Products costing £250 or more may still be accepted for return at our discretion.
Please choose carefully before ordering. Check part numbers, fitment and suitability before purchase. Please do not order parts simply to try them or on the assumption that they can be fitted and then returned if unsuitable.
  • Changed your mind within 14 days? UK and EEA consumers have statutory cancellation rights. Tell us within 14 days of receiving your order, then return the goods within the following 14 days.
  • Need longer? Eligible products can be returned under our voluntary extended returns policy. Contact us within 60 days of delivery and, once the return has been agreed, send the goods back within 14 days.
  • Extended returns must be unused, unfitted, complete and suitable for resale as new. Goods must be undamaged, unmarked and uncontaminated, with all components and accessories supplied and their original product packaging where this formed part of the supplied product.
  • A £10 handling charge applies to extended returns. This is charged once per return consignment, regardless of how many eligible products are returned together. It does not apply where your statutory cancellation rights apply.
  • Return carriage and safe packing are your responsibility for change-of-mind returns.
  • Managed UK returns: where suitable, we can provide a convenient prepaid tracked return service with straightforward drop-off, proof of handover and tracking linked to your return. The cost will be advised before it is arranged and may be deducted from your refund.
  • Please do not fit or attempt to fit a part unless you intend to keep it. Fitting, attempted fitting, contamination, damage or excessive handling can substantially reduce the value of the goods. A product which has been fitted or used will not normally qualify for our voluntary extended returns policy.
  • Faulty, damaged or incorrectly described? Contact us first. We will advise the appropriate return method and will normally provide a prepaid return service or cover reasonable agreed return costs.
Returning it yourself? Please use a tracked, insured return service appropriate to the value and nature of the goods, pack and address the parcel correctly, and retain sufficient evidence to identify and trace the return. You remain responsible for the goods until they reach us.

Returns – quick FAQs

How long do I have to return an item?
Eligible products can be returned for up to 60 days from delivery under our voluntary extended returns policy.

For UK and EEA consumers, statutory change-of-mind cancellation rights also apply: tell us within 14 days of receiving your order, then return the goods within the following 14 days.
Which products qualify for 60-day returns?
Our extended returns policy automatically applies to individual products purchased for less than £250 including VAT.

Products purchased for £250 or more are not automatically covered, although we may agree to accept them for return at our discretion. Eligibility is based on the price of each individual product rather than the total order value.
Is there a charge for an extended return?
Returns made under our voluntary extended returns policy are subject to a £10 handling charge per return consignment, regardless of the number of eligible products returned together.

This charge does not apply where the return is being made under your statutory cancellation rights.
Who pays return carriage?
For change-of-mind returns, return carriage and safe packing are your responsibility. Where suitable, we can provide a prepaid tracked return service and advise the cost before it is arranged.

If an item is faulty, damaged or incorrectly described, contact us first. Where return is reasonably required, we will normally provide a prepaid return service or cover reasonable return costs agreed with us.
What condition must an extended return be in?
Goods returned under our extended returns policy must be unused, unfitted, complete and suitable for resale as new. They must be undamaged, unmarked and uncontaminated, with all components and accessories supplied and their original product packaging where this formed part of the supplied product.
Can I fit a part and then return it?
Please check fitment and suitability before installation. Please do not fit or attempt to fit a part unless you intend to keep it.

Once a part has been fitted or an attempt has been made to fit it, it may be marked, contaminated, damaged or otherwise unsuitable for resale as a new part. Fitted or used goods will not normally qualify for our voluntary extended returns policy.

Where statutory cancellation rights apply, handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the goods may result in a reduction to your refund if it has reduced their value.
What if the item is faulty?
Contact us before returning it. Where a return is reasonably required for a faulty, damaged or incorrectly described item, we will normally provide a prepaid return service or cover reasonable return costs agreed with us.
Are any items excluded from 60-day returns?
Products purchased for £250 or more including VAT are not automatically covered by our extended returns policy, although we may agree a return at our discretion.

Extended returns must also meet the condition requirements above. Statutory exclusions and any separate statutory rights continue to apply as set out in our full Terms & Conditions.

Warranty

Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.

Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.

Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.

Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.

This warranty is in addition to your legal rights and does not reduce those rights.
