The Hankook LR180617 Battery is a premium, heavy-duty replacement for Land Rover Defender Puma models (2.2 and 2.4 TDCi). As the original battery ages it loses capacity, which shows up as slow cranking, reluctant starting and random electrical gremlins. Swapping to this quality Hankook unit restores confidence every time you turn the key.
With 100Ah capacity and 850 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA), the LR180617 is engineered to cope with the electrical demands of modern Defenders, delivering strong cranking performance even in cold weather. It is ideal for vehicles that live outside, tow regularly or run additional electrical equipment such as work lights, fridges or in-car chargers.
This sealed, maintenance-free calcium battery uses Hankook X-Frame Grid Technology and Grid Protection Technology for improved durability, vibration resistance and starting performance. A sealed double lid with integrated flame arrestor adds extra safety, while the built-in “magic eye” indicator makes checking battery state of charge quick and easy.
The LR180617 is a 12V engine-start battery intended for standard cranking duties on single-battery Defender Puma models. It is not a start-stop battery and is not intended as a leisure or auxiliary battery. Supplied charged and ready to fit, backed by Twinwoods 4×4’s Land Rover expertise and UK-based support.
If you are unsure this is the correct battery for your Defender, contact us with your registration or VIN and we will happily double-check fitment before you order.

Battery delivery

Batteries can only be delivered within the UK. Because batteries travel through a different courier route and may be sent direct from the battery supplier, order batteries separately from other parts where possible to avoid delays or additional carriage issues.
Battery warranty and vehicle checks
This battery is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturing defects. Battery warranty does not cover failure caused by vehicle faults, incorrect charging, overcharging, undercharging, deep discharge, parasitic drain, poor earths, loose terminals, faulty alternators, faulty voltage regulators or unsuitable auxiliary wiring.
If a battery problem occurs, we need to establish whether the battery itself is faulty or whether the vehicle charging system, wiring or electrical equipment has caused the issue. A faulty alternator, regulator, earth, terminal connection or parasitic drain can discharge or damage a battery, and that is not covered as a manufacturing fault.
Before a warranty replacement can be arranged, the battery may need to be fully charged and tested, and we may need charging-system checks from the vehicle. Test results may need to show battery voltage, cold cranking amps and battery health.
Please contact us before returning a battery. We do not normally send a replacement battery before the original battery has been tested and a battery fault has been confirmed.

Information:
All batteries once filled with electrolyte become active, and will slowly self-discharge. The higher the temperature that they are stored at, the higher this self discharge rate will be.
It is important that no battery is allowed to discharge to the point of sulphating (12.06v), or so that they are no longer able to start the car/bike/truck or operate the required equipment. To prevent this we recommend monthly voltage checks, especially on vehicles that are used infrequently, or stand by equipment. Ideally a volt meter should be fitted to your vehicle so that you can monitor battery and alternator performance.
Once a battery’s voltage drops to 12.4v, we recommend that it is then recharged at a rate of around 10% of the battery’s capacity for 10 hours or until it has a voltage at rest of at least 12.65V.

All parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 are covered by a minimum 12 month warranty against manufacturing defects.
Some products and brands may carry a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects only and does not cover failure caused by incorrect fitting, misuse, accidental damage, normal wear and tear, or faults elsewhere on the vehicle.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and testing before any repair, replacement or refund is authorised.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
