Koyo replacement bearing for the Td5 viscous fan hub
This Koyo viscous fan bearing fits the fan hub used on Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 engines. It is a replacement bearing for Land Rover part number ERR5285 and is used when rebuilding the existing fan hub rather than replacing the full assembly.
Koyo are a long-established Japanese bearing manufacturer and are widely used for high-quality automotive and industrial bearing applications. For this repair, the Koyo bearing gives you a proper branded replacement where bearing quality matters.
A worn viscous fan bearing can cause rumbling or grinding from the front of the engine, visible fan wobble, play when the fan is rocked by hand, or rusty dust and grease marks around the bearing area. If the bearing is rough, noisy or loose, replacement is the sensible repair while the fan hub is apart.
This is a press-fit bearing repair part. The old bearing must be removed and the new bearing pressed in squarely, with the hub correctly supported to avoid damage. If the hub housing, fan coupling or mounting parts are worn or damaged, check those parts before rebuilding the assembly.
