300TDI auxiliary drive belt tensioner replacement
This auxiliary drive belt tensioner is for Land Rover 300TDI engines used in Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic models. It is manufactured by Dayco and replaces the original belt tensioner under part number ERR4708G.
The tensioner keeps the 300TDI serpentine belt under the correct load. A worn tensioner can cause belt squeal, poor belt tracking, vibration from the tensioner arm, charging problems, power steering issues or coolant temperature problems if the belt is slipping.
When replacing the tensioner, check the condition of the auxiliary drive belt at the same time. For the matching belt, see the early 300TDI auxiliary drive belt ERR3287D / 7PK1595 or the later 300TDI auxiliary drive belt PQS000040D / ERR5911D / 7PK1580. Check your existing belt length, VIN or engine number before ordering if you are unsure which belt version your vehicle uses.
