300TDI timing belt kit with modified crank gear
This 300TDI timing belt kit is for Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic 300TDI engines. It is equivalent to Land Rover kit STC4096LG / STC4096 and is built around a Dayco timing belt with INA tensioner and idler bearings.
The kit includes the later modified one-piece crank gear, which is the better setup when carrying out a proper 300TDI timing belt service. It also includes the front timing cover gasket and new tensioner fixings, so you have the main parts needed while the timing cover is apart.
The 300TDI timing belt should be replaced at the correct interval, or sooner if the vehicle’s service history is unknown. If the belt, idler, tensioner or crank gear arrangement is worn or overdue, replacing the kit as a complete set is the sensible approach.
