Discovery 2 automatic XYZ switch replacement
This UHB100190 XYZ switch fits Land Rover Discovery 2 automatic models with the ZF 4-speed automatic gearbox. It is the gear selector position switch used to tell the vehicle which PRND321 position has been selected.
A failing Discovery 2 XYZ switch can cause M & S lights flashing, limp-home mode, no-start in Park or Neutral, incorrect gear display, harsh or unexpected gear selection, reverse light faults or gear-selector plausibility fault codes. These symptoms can also be caused by wiring, connector or adjustment faults, so the switch and loom should be checked properly before replacement.
Correct adjustment is important when fitting an XYZ switch. The selector should be set to Neutral, the switch fitted and adjusted so the neutral alignment marks line up, then the start-in-P/N function, reverse lights and displayed gear position should be checked before road testing.
Water ingress and connector corrosion are common issues around Discovery 2 transmission switch wiring. Before fitting the new switch, inspect the loom and connector for moisture, damaged pins or poor connections so the replacement part is not affected by the same underlying fault.
