ERR7143 is the later-style outer front crankshaft seal used in the front timing cover position on Land Rover 300TDI engines. It is listed for later Defender 300TDI and Discovery 1 300TDI applications.
ERR7143 or ERR4576?
ERR7143 and ERR4576 are both used in the outer front timing cover seal position on 300TDI engines. The difference is best treated as a seal design / catalogue split rather than a completely different engine job.
Where the engine and timing cover are original, use the part number specified for the vehicle. Where the engine or timing cover history is uncertain, match the seal removed from the cover where possible.
