On older Defenders the original power steering pump often becomes noisy, leaks or simply struggles to keep up, especially with larger tyres or years of hard work. This quality replacement pump replaces Land Rover part number NTC9070, restoring proper hydraulic pressure so your steering feels as it should.
Designed specifically for 200Tdi, 2.5NA and 2.5 Turbo diesel engines, it’s an ideal solution when your existing pump is whining, foaming the fluid or leaving oily patches under the front of the vehicle.
Typical symptoms of a failing power steering pump
- Steering feels heavy or “notchy”, especially at low speeds or when parking
- Whining, groaning or chattering noises from the front of the engine
- Fluid level in the reservoir drops or the fluid looks aerated/foamy
- Visible leaks from the pump body, shaft seal or hose unions
