Genuine Denso Td5 alternator replacement
This genuine Denso alternator is for Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 models. It is a 120A alternator assembly supplied with the vacuum pump and pulley already fitted, making it the main replacement unit for Td5 vehicles using the vacuum alternator setup.
A failing alternator can cause weak charging, battery warning lights, flat batteries, slow cranking or unstable electrical behaviour. Because the Td5 alternator also carries the vacuum pump, it is worth checking the surrounding oil feed pipework when the old alternator is removed.
Before fitting, check the condition of the alternator oil feed hose and auxiliary drive belt. If the oil feed pipe is corroded, cracked or weeping, replace it with the YKL100120SS Td5 alternator oil feed hose. If the auxiliary belt is cracked, glazed, noisy or oil-contaminated, choose the correct option from our Td5 auxiliary drive belts page.

I had difficulty with the website’s functionality which TWINWOODS diligently assisted with, over a number of E-mail exchanges. For the part item of interest, the pricing was very competitive, the cheapest in fact. Freight forwarding between the UK and Australia was surprisingly fast; the fastest I have yet encountered given my rural delivery location.
In future Land Rover part searches I intend to include reviewing the prices offered by TWINWOODS. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to acquire Land Rover parts due to the age of my vehicle being a 2003 model, especially electronic parts e.g. SRS affecting driver and passenger safety.
