Description
Terrafirma TF450 E-Locker electronic locking differential for 24-spline Rover-type Land Rover axles. In normal use it behaves as a conventional open differential, retaining normal road manners and allowing each wheel to turn at the speed it needs through corners. When traction is limited, the dash-mounted switch electrically engages the locker and fully locks the differential, giving equal drive to both wheels on that axle.
The difference becomes particularly useful off road when one wheel becomes unloaded or lifts clear of the ground. A conventional open differential can allow that wheel to spin while very little useful drive reaches the wheel with grip; engaging the E-Locker mechanically locks the two axle outputs together so both wheels continue to receive drive. Once the obstacle is cleared, switching it off returns the axle to normal open-differential operation.
Because the locking mechanism is electrically operated, the TF450 needs no compressor or air lines. The differential is supplied with its wiring loom and illuminated dashboard switch, with only a two-wire connection to the locker itself. No special differential oil is required.

Fitment Notes
The TF450 accepts 24-spline half shafts only. Earlier Defender 90, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic models originally fitted with 10-spline half shafts can use the TF450 when converted to 24-spline half shafts.
Defender 110 / 130 rear applications are different. The TF450 is for the front Rover differential; later Wolf / short-nose rear differentials use the Terrafirma TF460, while earlier Salisbury rear axles use a different differential design.
Installation
The TF450 replaces the original differential centre rather than the complete differential assembly. The existing crownwheel is transferred to the E-Locker and the differential must then be set up correctly for carrier-bearing preload and crownwheel-to-pinion backlash. Terrafirma specifies 2 x RTC3095 carrier bearings and a 12 mm hole through the differential casing for the electrical cable gland.
Differential setup requires the same care and measuring equipment as any differential-centre replacement, including a dial gauge for backlash adjustment. The electrical side is considerably simpler than an air-operated locker, with no compressor installation or air pipework required.

Warranty
Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
