Description

A simple but genuinely useful little tool for one awkward Land Rover job.  This single 1/2″ drive 1/2″ AF 12 point socket has been chosen specifically for Defender brake caliper bolts that have not been removed in a long time. Because it is slightly tighter than a normal 13mm socket, it can be tapped onto the bolt head for a much firmer grip.

Why this socket works

The better the grip on the first attempt, the less chance there is of rounding or damaging the bolt head.  On stubborn caliper bolts, a normal 13mm socket can sometimes feel just loose enough to let the edges suffer once real force is applied. This 1/2″ AF socket gives a tighter fit, which can make all the difference when you are trying to get an old bolt moving without creating a bigger problem.

Chosen for real Defender workshop use

We offer this specific socket because it works well on a specific Land Rover job that regularly catches people out.

For anyone working on Defender brakes at home, it is a cheap and sensible little tool to have ready before the job starts. Better first-time engagement means a better chance of getting the bolt undone cleanly.

Some products and brands may carry a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects only and does not cover failure caused by incorrect fitting, misuse, accidental damage, normal wear and tear, or faults elsewhere on the vehicle.

Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and testing before any repair, replacement or refund is authorised.
