Heavy-duty ball joint separator for Land Rover steering and suspension work
This Draper Expert 2-stage ball joint separator is a practical workshop tool for separating tapered steering and suspension joints on Land Rovers and other 4x4s. The 56mm maximum opening gives more working range than a small splitter, while the offset jaw helps the tool sit correctly in tighter or more awkward positions.
The 2-stage design uses a fine threaded forcing screw to apply steady, controlled pressure to the joint. This is especially useful on track rod ends, drag links, steering arms and larger suspension ball joints where a light-duty splitter can run out of travel or struggle to apply pressure cleanly.
A proper separator helps remove tapered joints without beating the surrounding hub, arm or steering component with a hammer. That makes it a sensible tool to keep in the workshop if you regularly work on Land Rover steering, suspension or front axle jobs.
