LOF EXTREMEspec solid mass flywheel conversion for Td5
This LOF EXTREMEspec kit converts Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 vehicles from the original Valeo dual mass flywheel setup to a LOF solid mass flywheel and uprated clutch assembly. It is aimed at high-output Td5 builds, VNT or hybrid turbo conversions, competition vehicles, heavy towing and harsh working conditions.
The kit includes a LOF solid flywheel, LOF Td5 clutch cover, three-stage pre-dampened sprung driven plate, EXTREMEspec heavy-duty release bearing, spigot bush, fork bush, flywheel bolts, clutch cover bolts, wire clips and G90 high-temperature assembly grease.
LOF designed this SMF kit to keep the flywheel weight close to the original dual mass flywheel and to use a sprung centre matched to the damping normally provided by the Valeo dual mass unit. That makes this a stronger conversion route than a basic solid flywheel swap, while still using a standard-length release bearing.
