Discovery 2 clutch master cylinder replacement
This aftermarket clutch master cylinder fits Land Rover Discovery 2 manual models and replaces part number STC000280. It is the hydraulic cylinder operated by the clutch pedal and is used to generate pressure for the clutch slave cylinder.
Replace the clutch master cylinder if the pedal feels soft, sinks, loses bite point, struggles to disengage the clutch, or if there is visible fluid loss around the cylinder or pedal area. These faults can make gear selection difficult and should be dealt with before the vehicle becomes unreliable to drive.
When replacing the master cylinder, check the rest of the clutch hydraulic system at the same time. The Td5 clutch slave cylinder for R380 is available separately, and fresh DOT 4 brake / clutch fluid should be used when bleeding the system.
