Complete TD5 fuel filter housing kit (WJN000030) for Defender TD5 and Discovery 2 TD5. The housing sits in a filthy place on the rear chassis, so replacing the housing, Mahle KC80 filter, bleed valve, non-return valve and sealing fittings together is normally better than rebuilding a corroded old unit piece by piece.

Description
This TD5 fuel filter housing kit (WJN000030) replaces the rear chassis-mounted fuel filter housing on Defender TD5 and Discovery 2 TD5 models. It renews the corroded housing, fuel filter, bleed valve, non-return valve and sealing parts together, rather than trying to build a reliable job around an old rear chassis-mounted unit.
The TD5 fuel filter housing lives inside the rear wheel arch, where road salt, mud and water attack the aluminium casting, pipe connections and filter sealing face. A tired housing can cause diesel smells, visible leaks, air ingress, difficult bleeding, extended cranking after standing or rough running after a filter change.

Water-in-Fuel Sensor Choice
TD5 fuel filter housings use the same base housing, but the kit part number changes depending on which water-in-fuel sensor is supplied, or whether a sensor is included at all. This WJN000030 kit is supplied with the Discovery 2 water-in-fuel sensor (WKW500070), but it is usually the most cost-effective complete housing kit, which is why we normally keep this variant in stock.
Many TD5 owners do not use the water-in-fuel sensor, especially where the fuel filter is serviced regularly. On Defender TD5 models where the supplied sensor connection is not being used, the sensor can be left unplugged. Alternatively, the existing sensor can be transferred to the new fuel filter where required.
For Defender TD5 models that need a new housing with the Defender-type WKW500060 sensor supplied in the box, use the WJN000020 Defender sensor-specific fuel filter housing kit.
Bleed Valve, Non-Return Valve and Fitting Notes
The air bleed valve and non-return valve must be fitted in the correct ports if the housing has been stripped. Use the TD5 air bleed valve position guide if the valve layout needs confirming. Take care with the original quick-release fuel hose connectors, as they become brittle with age. New chassis fixing bolts are available separately in the TD5 fuel filter housing fixing kit.
