Heavy duty steering rods for Defender
The Terrafirma TF250 heavy duty steering bars kit fits Land Rover Defender models using the standard 3 track rod end steering setup. It upgrades the standard drag link and track rod with stronger heavy duty steering bars for vehicles used off-road, on greenlanes, on rough ground or with larger tyres.
The standard Defender steering rods sit low and exposed, so they can be bent by ruts, rocks, banks and uneven ground. Even a slight bend can affect tracking, steering feel and tyre wear, so stronger steering bars are a worthwhile upgrade on vehicles that work harder than standard road use.
The TF250 kit includes the heavy duty drag link, heavy duty track rod and 3 greaseable track rod ends. It uses the original Defender steering mounting points, so no custom mounting work is needed on a standard steering setup.
When fitting greaseable track rod ends, we recommend removing the smaller of the two boot retaining clips. This allows excess grease to purge from the joint and helps avoid the boots ballooning or popping off during greasing.
This is the Defender version. Discovery 2 uses the TF255 Terrafirma heavy duty steering bars kit, so choose TF250 only for Defender fitment.

Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
