Defender and Discovery 2 Td5 alternator replacement
This Febi Td5 alternator is a 120A replacement alternator for Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 models. It replaces Land Rover equivalent part number ERR6999 and later reference LR006190, and is supplied as the alternator assembly with the integrated vacuum pump.
We offer this Febi alternator as a stronger branded middle-ground option for Td5 owners who want a dependable replacement without moving up to the higher-cost Denso alternator. It gives you a recognised parts brand and the correct 120A vacuum-pump alternator arrangement for the Td5 engine.
A failing Td5 alternator can cause battery warning lights, weak or unstable charging, repeated flat batteries, slow cranking, electrical faults from low system voltage, or charging output that drops away under load. On the Td5 engine, the alternator also carries the vacuum pump, so oil leaks or vacuum pump problems can be part of the same repair area.
When replacing the alternator, check the condition of the oil feed pipe to the vacuum pump. If the original pipe is corroded, cracked or weeping, the YKL100120SS Td5 alternator oil feed hose is a worthwhile upgrade while access is available.
