Replacement Td5 oil pump sprocket bolt
This Td5 oil pump sprocket bolt fits Land Rover Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 engines. It is the small but important retaining bolt for the oil pump sprocket, and is commonly checked or replaced while the sump is removed.
Loose Td5 oil pump bolts are a known concern because loss of oil pump drive can lead to loss of oil pressure. If you are already removing the sump to inspect the bolt, replacing it with a fresh thread-locked bolt is a sensible precaution.
The most reliable access is with the sump removed. Fit with the correct procedure and torque for the Td5 engine, and check the surrounding oil pump area while access is available.
For the same job, you will usually also need the Td5 sump gasket LVF500040. If you are working around the oil filter housing and drain pipe, the Td5 oil filter housing drain pipe gasket LRJ100000 is also worth considering.
