This coolant expansion cap (PCD100160) fits Defender Td5 and Defender 2.4 / 2.2 Puma TDCI models. It is also listed for Freelander 1 up to VIN 3A289375 and MG F / MG TF applications.
The expansion tank cap is part of the cooling system pressure control. A tired, damaged or poor-sealing cap can contribute to coolant loss, pressure issues or coolant staining around the expansion tank area. It is a sensible low-cost part to replace if the cap is old, damaged, not sealing correctly, or being changed during wider cooling system work.
