Heavy duty steering damper for Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic
The Terrafirma TF811 steering damper fits Land Rover Discovery 1 1989–1998 and Range Rover Classic models. It is an uprated pin/pin steering damper for D1/RRC steering setups, designed to help control sudden steering movement, kickback and shimmy.
A steering damper helps absorb harsh feedback through the steering system. This is especially useful on live axle Land Rovers used on rough roads, rutted tracks, greenlanes, off-road routes or with larger tyres, where steering movement and kickback can be more noticeable.
Terrafirma list this steering damper with a 35mm internal bore and piston, 54mm big bore twin tube design, 16mm double chromed shaft and 50/50 damping. It uses the traditional Terrafirma silver body with blue dust shield.
This is the Discovery 1 / Range Rover Classic version. Defender and Discovery 2 use different Terrafirma steering dampers, so choose TF811 only for Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic fitment.

Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
