Clutchfix 500Nm heavy duty organic clutch and solid mass flywheel kit for Defender TD5 and Discovery 2 TD5, supplied as a matched conversion to replace the original dual mass flywheel setup. The 500Nm clutch gives increased holding capacity for remapped engines, towing, larger tyres and regular hard use, while the supplied solid flywheel removes the dual mass flywheel as a future wear item.
The clutch uses a sprung organic driven plate with damping designed to match the characteristics of the original Valeo dual mass flywheel. This gives a purpose-built solid-flywheel clutch package rather than simply replacing the flywheel with a solid unit, while also avoiding the substantial cost of fitting another dual mass flywheel alongside an uprated clutch.

Clutchfix is a UK clutch specialist with a background in commercial, heavy duty and specialist clutch engineering. Its Land Rover range uses uprated pressure plates and HD1 organic friction material, with different clutch specifications developed around engine output, flywheel setup and intended use.
Why Clutchfix?
Clutchfix specialises in clutch engineering rather than simply supplying standard replacement kits. Clutch rebuilding, modification and uprating form a major part of the business, and its heavy duty Land Rover clutches are developed around the additional torque and heat generated by remapped, converted and harder working vehicles.
A major part of the uprated clutch design is the pressure plate. Clutchfix modifies the diaphragm spring to increase clamp load, while its HD1 organic friction material was originally developed for heavy haulage and industrial use before being adopted for uprated Land Rover clutch applications. The result is a range of organic road clutches with different capacities rather than one generic heavy duty specification.

Standard UK shipments are normally sent with DPD. UK orders containing oils or fluids are normally sent with DHL where required, because some carriers restrict liquid shipments.

Warranty
Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
