Corteco Td5 rear crankshaft oil seal
This Corteco rear crankshaft oil seal is for Land Rover Td5 engines used in Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 models. It is an OE quality replacement seal for LUF100420G applications and is supplied with the applicator needed for correct installation.
The rear crankshaft oil seal sits at the back of the engine and is often replaced when there is engine oil leaking from the bellhousing area, or when the gearbox, clutch or flywheel has already been removed. Because access is involved, it is worth fitting a quality seal rather than reusing or fitting an unknown part.
Oil around the bellhousing can come from more than one source, so check the leak carefully before ordering. When the seal is being replaced during clutch or flywheel work, also check the condition of the clutch, flywheel, spigot bush and related fixings while everything is apart.

Fruedenberg is a company with 170 years of history. Originally founded in 1849 as a leather tannery, it wasn't until 1932 when Freudenburg entered the seal business.
In 1957, Freudenburg first got involved in vibration control technology by engineering and manufacturing shock absorbers and bushings under the name Matalastik. In the same year, Freudenburg entered a partnership with Italian seal manufacturer Corte & Cosso. This partnership is where the Corteco name came from. In fact, the name Corteco in Italian is the term used for sealing ring or rotating shaft.
