Brand New Td5 De-webbed Exhaust Manifold with Gasket – Defender & Discovery 2

A brand new OE quality Td5 exhaust manifold supplied with the exhaust manifold gasket and EGR blanking plate.  Prepared in-house with de-webbing and a small mounting-hole relief.  This gives you a known-starting-point manifold (no unknown refurb history) and a fitment-friendly setup for Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5.

Why start with a brand new casting

Many refurbished manifolds have an unknown history and may have been skimmed previously often multiple times, reducing flange thickness.  On a Td5 the turbo bolts directly to the manifold, so manifold face condition and geometry affect both sealing and overall turbo/downpipe alignment.  Starting with a new casting avoids the uncertainty that comes with used parts.

In-house de-webbing

The cast webs are removed to help the manifold better accommodate thermal expansion and contraction through repeated heat cycles. This is a common Td5 modification aimed at reducing stress across the runner section and flange.

Mounting holes relieved for fitment

Selected mounting holes are relieved by approximately 0.5 mm to assist alignment during installation and help avoid the manifold being forced into position. The goal is a more natural fit, reducing the chance of side-load being introduced into the studs and flange.

Choose your stud kit add-on

Stud kits are optional but highly recommended.  Select the stud kit that matches your setup:

Heavy Duty stud kit (standard fitment)

• Best for standard and mildly tuned Td5s
• Standard manifold fitment (no spacers)

Ultimate stud kit (extended stud + spacer setup)

• Best if you’re running spacers or specifically building around the spacer-style arrangement
• Includes longer studs and stainless spacers

Installation notes

• Clean/chase cylinder head threads before fitting and keep debris out of the holes.
• Install studs by hand and seat finger-tight only (do not force or bottom out).
• Tighten evenly across the ports.
• Use a small amount of high-temperature anti-seize on nut-side threads (avoid gasket faces).
• On tuned vehicles, heat management matters: monitoring EGTs helps reduce repeat manifold issues.

We highly recommend the Pioneer Turbo Feed and Drain Pipe upgrade while they are easily accessible.  Not only does it make it much easier to install and service the turbo the drain flange has a much thicker flange eliminating warping and turbo drain oil leaking issues.
