Td5 front camshaft cover O-ring upgrade for LDI100030
This Viton O-ring is an upgraded seal for the LDI100030 front camshaft oil seal carrier used on Land Rover Td5 engines. It seals the carrier to the cylinder head on Defender and Discovery 2 Td5 models.
The original-style O-ring can harden, flatten or start to seep, leaving oil running down the front of the engine. This upgraded seal is made from high-temperature Viton rubber and is slightly thicker than the standard-style seal, giving a more reliable seal between the carrier and the head.
Clean the groove in the LDI100030 carrier carefully before fitting, and use a light smear of O-ring grease or clean engine oil to help the seal seat correctly. The upgraded O-ring is a tight fit by design. If the plastic LDI100030 carrier is warped, cracked or distorted, replace the complete carrier and fit this upgraded seal in place of the thin O-ring supplied with it.
This O-ring only improves the seal between the LDI100030 carrier and the cylinder head. It does not change how the main front camshaft oil seal behaves. Do not modify the camshaft seal arrangement to force a permanent seal, as the front camshaft oil seal is designed to move if crankcase pressure becomes excessive.

Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. I Placed an order for this O-ring a while back and had some issues with the delivery service (on DPD’s end) I got in contact with the customer service on WhatsApp and spoke with Tom who was able to help me out and send a replacement. I have since received the O-ring and I am very happy with the quality of it, I made the installation process easier by allowing the O-ring to warm up in some hot water and then installed it with some oil, it popped right in place with no issues super happy would recommend
