Defender and Discovery 2 Td5 MAP sensor replacement
This MHK100640 Intermotor MAP sensor fits Land Rover Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 models using the standard Td5 MAP sensor setup. The MAP sensor measures inlet manifold pressure and temperature so the ECU can calculate boost and fuelling correctly.
A faulty or oil-contaminated Td5 MAP sensor can cause poor throttle response, flat spots, excess smoke, poor fuel economy, fault codes or limp mode under load. These symptoms can have more than one cause, but the MAP sensor is a common item to check when a Td5 is not reading boost correctly.
This is a standard replacement MAP sensor for vehicles where MHK100640 is specified. It is a direct plug-in part and does not require calibration on a standard Td5 setup.
If your Td5 has been remapped and specifically calibrated for a 4 bar MAP sensor, see our Bosch 4 bar Td5 MAP sensor instead. The 4 bar version is only suitable where the ECU map has been calibrated for it, not as a direct replacement for a standard sensor.
