Replacement Td5 coolant outlet elbow for leaking or corroded housings
This Td5 water outlet elbow / coolant temperature sensor housing (ERR7097) fits Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 engines. It is the coolant outlet housing fitted at the top hose connection and also carries the coolant temperature sensor.
These housings can corrode or pit around the hose sealing area. Once the sealing face is damaged, the top hose may not clamp cleanly and replacing the hose alone may not cure the leak. Coolant staining, poor hose sealing or visible corrosion around the outlet are all good reasons to inspect the housing closely.
When replacing the housing, fit a new gasket and check the fixing bolts before reassembly. If the original bolts are corroded or the heads are worn, replacing them at the same time makes the job cleaner and reduces the chance of problems when refitting.
