Pierburg Td5 boost modulator valve
PMK100130 is the Td5 turbo wastegate control valve, commonly known as the boost modulator. It allows the engine ECU to control turbo boost pressure through the wastegate actuator circuit.
On Discovery 2 Td5 models, this valve is part of the standard turbo control system. On Defender Td5 models, check the vehicle before ordering, as Defenders are not normally fitted with this boost modulator setup from standard. If your Defender already uses this valve, PMK100130 is the correct replacement part number.
A faulty, bypassed or incorrectly connected boost modulator can affect boost control, throttle response and turbo behaviour. Before replacing the valve, also check the three small boost pipes, the electrical connector and the wastegate actuator.
Fitment is straightforward when replacing an existing modulator: the valve is fixed with two bolts, has three pipe connections and one electrical connector. Make sure the pipe routing is correct before running the engine.
