Defender ABS brake master cylinder replacement
This LR013017G Delphi brake master cylinder is a replacement hydraulic master cylinder for Land Rover Defender models fitted with ABS. It is used on Defender ABS braking systems where LR013017 or one of the related reference numbers is specified.
The brake master cylinder converts pedal movement into hydraulic pressure for the braking system. A worn or failing master cylinder can cause a soft or sinking brake pedal, loss of hydraulic pressure, brake fluid leaks or inconsistent braking feel. Brake faults should always be diagnosed properly before the vehicle is used on the road.
Please check that your Defender has the ABS braking system before ordering. ABS and non-ABS brake systems use different components, so the braking system type must be matched correctly.
When replacing the brake master cylinder, check the brake pipes, unions, servo, reservoir area and brake fluid condition. The system will need to be bled correctly after fitting, and old or contaminated fluid should be replaced with the correct specification brake fluid.
