Aftermarket LT230 transmission brake shoe set
LR180756 is a replacement set of transmission brake shoes for the LT230 drum-type handbrake assembly. These shoes fit Land Rover Defender, Discovery 1, Discovery 2, Range Rover Classic and P38 applications using the relevant LT230 transmission brake setup.
Replace the shoes if the handbrake is weak, uneven, contaminated with oil, or if the friction material is worn or damaged. Oil contamination from the LT230 rear output area can quickly ruin the shoes, so check for leaks before fitting new brake parts.
While the transmission brake is apart, inspect the handbrake drum, shoe fitting kit, adjuster and lever mechanism. A new set of shoes will only work properly if the drum surface and hardware are serviceable and the handbrake can be adjusted correctly.
