Description
The Alive EGR kit has a straight through design which matches the size of the inlet manifold perfectly, removing the restriction to inlet airflow in the standard EGR valve assembly, which has an adverse effect on performance. This results in improved engine torque giving a smoother, more flexible engine. The main body is made from Aluminium (the same material as the original EGR casting) for long term reliability and it’s resistance to sulphur. The metal blank plates are made from mild steel to allow for the extreme temperatures at the exhaust manifold, where stainless steel would eventually fail.
This kit fits EU2 and EU3 TD5 engines. For EU2 engines two of the blanking plates will not be needed.
A very simple upgrade that should take no longer than an hour to install, allowing your engine to breathe!
EGR removal and road use
Removing or disabling manufacturer-fitted emissions equipment may make the vehicle unsuitable or unlawful for use on public roads and may result in an MOT or vehicle test failure.
MOT and emissions responsibility
Current MOT guidance treats emissions-control equipment fitted by the manufacturer that is missing, obviously modified or obviously defective as a major defect. EGR valves are among the visible emissions components that may be inspected.
Vehicle age, original specification and current test requirements can affect how an individual vehicle is assessed. Passing the exhaust smoke test does not necessarily mean that the removal of visible emissions equipment will be accepted.
The vehicle owner and installer are responsible for ensuring that any modification complies with current road-traffic, emissions and vehicle-testing requirements. Please check the legal and MOT position before fitting this kit to a vehicle used on public roads.
Twinwoods 4x4 cannot confirm the road legality or MOT acceptability of an individually modified vehicle.

Warranty
Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
This warranty is in addition to your legal rights and does not reduce those rights.
