Description
TD5 starter motor solenoid rebuild kit for repairing the common click-no-crank fault on Defender TD5 and Discovery 2 TD5 starter motors. The solenoid contacts carry the heavy starter current, and once they are worn or burnt the starter may click without turning the engine. This kit replaces the worn contact parts inside the solenoid, making it a worthwhile repair where the existing starter motor is otherwise in good condition.

Fitment Notes
A single click from the starter with no cranking is a common sign of worn solenoid contacts. No click at all, intermittent triggering or completely dead starting can also be caused by the small starter trigger wire, battery condition, main earths or starter cable connections. Slow or noisy cranking normally points towards complete starter motor replacement rather than just solenoid contact repair.

Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
