Allmakes Td5 auxiliary belt tensioner replacement
This Allmakes auxiliary drive belt tensioner fits Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 models using the ERR6951 tensioner. It is supplied as a complete spring-loaded assembly with the tensioner arm, pulley and bearing already fitted.
The auxiliary belt tensioner keeps the drive belt correctly loaded across the belt-driven ancillaries. A worn or weak tensioner can cause belt squeal, chirping, pulley bearing noise, poor belt tracking or visible movement from the tensioner arm while the engine is running.
When replacing the tensioner, check the auxiliary belt and the other pulleys before reassembly. If the belt is cracked, glazed, contaminated or noisy, replace it at the same time. See our Td5 auxiliary belts for matching belt options.
