TIMKEN® bearing for Td5 idler pulley repair
This Timken idler pulley bearing is used to rebuild the auxiliary belt idler pulleys fitted to Land Rover Td5 engines. It is suitable for Td5 pulleys ERR6493 and ERR6658, as used on Defender Td5 and Discovery 2 Td5 belt layouts.
A worn idler pulley bearing can cause chirping, squealing, rumbling, rough rotation or visible wobble in the pulley. If the pulley body is still serviceable, pressing in a new bearing can restore smooth operation without replacing the complete pulley.
This is the bearing only. The original pulley must be pressed apart and refitted carefully, with the pulley supported correctly to avoid distortion. If the pulley face, spacer or mounting parts are worn or damaged, replace the complete pulley instead.
