Description
Meyle TD5 water pump for circulating coolant through the engine, cylinder head and radiator on all Defender TD5 and Discovery 2 TD5 models. This branded replacement coolant pump replacing PEM500040 and ERR6505, and is supplied with the correct coolant pump seals already fitted.
The water pump is central to the TD5 cooling system, and wear in the pump bearings, seals or internal components can reduce coolant circulation or allow coolant to escape. Coolant loss or weeping around the pump, bearing noise or rumbling, overheating, an inconsistent running temperature and weak heater output can all indicate a worn or failing pump.
Clean the coolant pump mating surfaces carefully before fitting and avoid excessive sealant. Inspect the surrounding water pump housing and fixings for corrosion or damage before refilling and bleeding the cooling system.
