Description
AIRTEC Motorsport performance intercooler for manual Discovery 2 TD5 models, replacing the smaller standard intercooler with a much larger 810 x 350 x 60mm bar-and-plate core. The increased core size provides greater charge-air cooling capacity for tuned, remapped, towing and hard-worked TD5 engines, while the original 50mm boost hose connections are retained.
A particularly strong feature of the AIRTEC design is its flowed cast end tanks rather than the fabricated sheet-metal tanks used on many aftermarket intercoolers. The cast construction allows the internal shape to be designed around airflow into and out of the core, as well as giving a stronger and more rigid end-tank construction with fewer fabricated panels and welded joints.

AIRTEC intercoolers use large bar-and-plate cores with flowed cast end tanks, giving a strong, well-finished alternative to the fabricated sheet-metal designs common on many aftermarket intercoolers. Twinwoods stocks AIRTEC where the larger core and vehicle-specific fitment make sense for tuned, remapped and hard-worked Land Rovers.
AIRTEC Performance Intercoolers
AIRTEC Motorsport develops vehicle-specific intercoolers with larger cores, increased frontal area and greater cooling capacity than the standard units they replace. The Land Rover range includes side-mount upgrades for 200TDI and 300TDI engines, full-width Defender intercoolers and larger intercoolers for TD5 and Puma TDCI models.
One of the features we particularly like is AIRTEC's use of flowed cast aluminium end tanks. Unlike intercoolers built around folded and welded sheet-metal tanks, the cast construction allows the internal shape to be formed around the airflow path through the core while also producing a strong, rigid and tidy finished assembly.

Standard UK shipments are normally sent with DPD. UK orders containing oils or fluids are normally sent with DHL where required, because some carriers restrict liquid shipments.

Our extended returns policy automatically applies to individual products purchased for less than £250 including VAT. Products costing £250 or more may still be accepted for return at our discretion.

- Please do not fit or attempt to fit a part unless you intend to keep it. Fitting, attempted fitting, contamination, damage or excessive handling can substantially reduce the value of the goods. A product which has been fitted or used will not normally qualify for our voluntary extended returns policy.
- Faulty, damaged or incorrectly described? Contact us first. We will advise the appropriate return method and will normally provide a prepaid return service or cover reasonable agreed return costs.

Warranty
Buy with confidence: all new parts sold by Twinwoods 4x4 include at least 12 months manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Some products and brands may include a longer warranty period where this is provided by the manufacturer. Where applicable, this will normally be stated on the individual product page or covered by the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.
Warranty cover applies to manufacturing defects. It does not cover misuse, incorrect fitting, competition use unless stated, contamination, modification, damage during installation, normal wear and tear, or failure caused by an unrelated vehicle fault. For certain components, proof of professional fitment may be required.
Warranty claims may require the part to be returned for inspection and/or supplier testing before the claim is accepted. Any advance replacement is discretionary.
Warranty remedies relate to the part itself, meaning repair or replacement, or refund if those are not possible. Warranty does not cover labour, removal or refitting, diagnostics, consumables, travel or other incidental costs.
